Swagatham
Starring: Jagapathi Babu, Bhumika, Ansuhka, Arjun,Dharmavarapu, Ali, Venu Madhav, Jayaprakash Reddy,LB Sriram, ETV Prabhakar, Kondavalasa, Jhansi,Radhakumari and others.
Director: DasarathProducer: Adithya RamThe film is a quite refreshing as far as the movie concept is concerned. The story and its concept is not new to Tollywood audience , but the new and innovative presentation of this movie makes it special and also no scope for violence, Skin Show add Swagatham to the neat and pure film genre. Dasarath already made his mark with his previous movie Santhosham which was released a few years back. That movie was also neatly taken with now scope for violence and vulgarity. Swagatham is also expected to become successful in the same way as Santosham.
StoryJagapathi babu is a big business tycoon as he runs a garment company that is worth of almost 100 crore. The problem of Jagapathi babu’s character is that he has an attitude problem and his discipline and punctuality rules in his office make his employees call him Ravana.
Jagapathi Babu’s Grandmother Radha kumnari has only one worry and that too getting her grandson married and when she approached jagapathi with a marriage proposal he immediately rejects every proposal brought by her.
However by taking a wise decision, Radhakumari approaches a marriage bureau which is run by Bhumika Chawla. Bhumika understands jagapathi’s problem and arranges a matrimonial match for him. Meanwhile, due to Bhumika’s nature, jagapathi starts to mend his attitude problem.
Bhumika arranges an engagement ceremony, so that the bride and the bridegroom may meet and make themselves aware of each other. However in the process of marriage alliance for Jagapathi babu, Bhumika falls in love with Jagapathi Babu.
With some more twists the two fall in love and marry each other and are blessed with a child. At this time, a tragedy strikes the happy family as bhumika is diagnosed with Chronic Leukemia and is only left with some days to live. As this disease is not curable , Bhumika out of over precautious and worry leaves her daughter with jagapathi babu in India and flies to America.
The first half of the film is about the present reel life and the second half revolves around the flashback of the hero and heroine.
Second starts with the sequence of Cut the present and follows Jagapathi babu who is actually in America to mend the problems of his friend and cousin Arjun. Arjun is a married man to Anushka’s siter and unfortunately Anu’s siter dies in a car accident and Anushka thinks that it is all due to her brother in law’s negligence.
But Jagapathi babu interferes and clears all the misunderstanding and finally Arjun is united with his son.
The climax of the film ends with Arjun’s reunion with his son and Anushka’ replaces Bhumika’s place and marries jagapathi babu.
PerformancesJagapathi as usual has given his 100 percent performance to the film. He succeeded in achieving what the director wanted from him and is also looking younger and handsome in this film and in casual outfits.
Anushka who fits into the glam doll roll is perfectly apt to the character weaved in the film. Her only job is to pop in between and show her skin and dance with the hero .she once again displays her assets and her sexy figure in revealing outfits is a highlight in the film.
Bhumika is very impressive. Though she makes an entry only in the second half her presence makes us feel as if she is the main lead in the film.
Arjun is a surprise element in the film with a short character of a doctor and a friend to the hero very well.
Radha kkumari who played the character of jagapathi’s grandmother is perfect for the character and has well acted in her scenes.
Dharmavarapu, Ali, Venu Madhav, Jayaprakash Reddy, LB Sriram, ETV Prabhakar, Kondavalasa, Jhansi are the bunch of comedians in this film who try to churn out some comedy is average. Dharmavarapu who acts as a producer in the film, and who calls reputed directors like Vv Vinayak and pesters them with his boring Stories. This comedy sequence brings some tickles in the audience faces.
It is Ravi babu who succeeds to some extent with his role of Homosexual. His dialogue “Map Vesi Choopinchana brings some loud laughter’s from some mass section n of audience.
The music of the film is below average and the cinematography is appraisable.
On the whole this movie is a slow pace movie and is filled with sentiment; but is well carved without any scope for violence or vulgarity.
But this movie may only last for a couple of weeks.
