The film SANGAMAM comes as a soothing refresher and this credit is given to Rasool the director. He has carved the subject with well maturity and also has sprinkled Romance, comedy, sentiment to take it an above average film. Nowadays being labeled as an above average movie with no noted leading star cast is a more than million for a Telugu film. This film is well portrayed as a family entertainer and succeeds in gaining the said confidence.
Story
The first frame in the movie depicts the greenery and the sanctity of our villages. Samskruthi (Sindhura) is a darling daughter of Raghava Rao who is the village head in profession. He owns some lands properties and is well respected in the whole village. The daughter and father share a special rapport of two friends and the relationship is also closely knitted that Sindhura calls her father by his name.
Samskruthi is a well versed dancer and a good singer. She is a girl with multi talents. Meanwhile her father Raghava Rao is a well respected village head who gains confidence and trustworthiness of his village populace by doing good deeds. But he hates the word America. The reason for his hatred when he hears the word America is because of his brother Jagadish (Murali Mohan).
Jagadish leaves his elder brother in the village and settles in America. From then on his contact is lost with Raghava Rao and so this is the reason for Raghava Rao’s hatred. He feels that his brother betrayed him by convincing him to stay with him and then latter settling in USA without his consent.
Meanwhile, Samskruthi meets with an unfortunate accident and the doctors diagnose that she is suffering from Cardiac Myopia which can only be treated in USA. They suggest the same to Raghava rao. But the old man is hesitant to send his daughter to USA
But some how he is convinced by his daughter and Dr. Geetha (Suhasini) and Raghava Rao takes a promise from his daughter that she will never meet her uncle who is residing in USA.
However, the whole story is narrated to Jagadish by his close friends who reside in the village. Jagadish hatches a plan and incidentally makes Samskruthi meet his daughter Sneha (Sarah).
In the process Samskruthi also meets the hero Abhiram (Rohit) who falls in love with Samskruthi at the very first sight of her.
Abhiram one day proposes his love to Samskruthi and they two fall in love. Meanwhile Samskruthi learns that there was a misunderstanding between her father and Jagadish and so discovers that the uncle who is helping her is her paternal uncle.
The rest of the story is a suspense which has to be watched on big screen. The suspense element is the surgery, Abhiram’s love and the how the two families unite?
Performances
Sindhura has acted well as a village girl and her dialogue delivery and expressions are apt. Her curvy structure is shown through her dresses and the director has made a point that the female lead is never filmed vulgarly through out the film.
Rohit is cool, but his face and expressions lacks some luster. His facial features are not so catchy among the girls. Sometime he tries to mimic hero Siddharth.
Murali Mohan, Suhasini, Brahmanandham have played their roles well. The total star cast is well apt for the story.
The music looks soothing, but may be it lacked the punching lines in it. The direction was superb and the creativity of the director Rasool was evident in each and every frame of the film. The costumes were well suited to Sindhura.
On the whole this film may run for 4-5 weeks and since it is lacking big star cast in the lead it may become extinct in theaters after 4th week.
